LG came out of the starting blocks with a couple of top stories today. First was news that it was giving NFC payment tech in the UK a real push and looking for a way to make the necessary infrastructure a reality with its smartphones (pictured). It also released a bunch of official details on its upcoming tablet, the G-Slate. Samsung brought us further tablet news, with reports that 15 per cent of Galaxy Tabs have been returned since its launch.
The Android gossip wheel kept turning as further news filtered out about the oft-rumoured Google Music. Google made headlines yet again with an attack on Microsoft’s Bing search engine, which it claims is copying its results. Microsoft has bigger fish to fry, however, issuing a ‘critical’ warning over a new bug in IE.

No day is complete without its share of Apple news, and today was no exception. The iPad 2 purportedly had its display leaked in a new photo, while word came from the street that iOS 4.3 is getting closer by the minute. There was more White iPhone 4 news, with speculation that it’ll be dropping in March, and finally we had the launch of The Daily – the new iPad newspaper - which was leaked ahead of the official announcement. Not to be outdone, the New York Times annoucned its own subscription based iPad rag too.
In gaming news, we brought you an exclusive hands on with the new Nintendo 3DS, plus word that a new, 3DS-based Super Mario Bros game is coming soon. On top of that Call of Duty launched the ‘First Strike’ DLC package for Black Ops today, its first slice of multiplayer DLC action.
