News@8pm: iPad 2 pictures and Nintendo 3DS event

Apple iPad on your Christmas list? Well you may just be interested in pictures rumoured to be that of the iPad 2. Showing off a smaller 7-inch display, we imagine it's a fake but you can judge for yourself here. In other Apple tablet news, the iPad is set to get Kinect style motion-sensing controls dock which should breathe a little more life into the current iPad model. The Nintendo 3DS, tipped to be one of 2011’s hottest pieces of tech, is set to get an outing at a 3DS event on January 19th, when we hope to finally find out some UK launch details.

Tablets are set to be high on the 2011 agenda, and it looks like the HP Palmpad could be the latest tablet device to land with three models expected to show up at CES in a few weeks time. With Motorola’s tablet offering also set to be unveiled in Vegas, Apple looks set to inherit some serious tablet rivals in the next twelve months. Remember you can keep in touch with events in Vegas with T3's dedicated CES 2011 website.
