Apple Remote app gets major update

Apple’s Remote app for iPhone finally got a much-needed boost last month, but already Cupertino has given the new-look add-on an update, throwing in AirPlay skills and internet radio control.

The latter now means you can play web radio stations via iTunes using your iPhone to do the leg work. No more tinkering with your Mac or PC every time you want to switch from Argentinian free-form jazz to banging Ukrainian hardcore.

The AirPlay smarts let you control iTunes videos on your computer and stream them to your Apple TV. And now you can use the Remote to play movies and shows downloaded from iTunes on your Mac or PC too.

Got the update? Tell us what you think on Facebook and Twitter now.
