News of the Week
This week’s most high-profile launch was that of The Daily, the first iPad specific newspaper which has come from an Apple and News Corp joint venture. Having leaked just minutes before its official unveiling we were privy to The Daily’s details ahead of hearing confirmation from the mouth of Rupert Murdoch. Having been officially unveiled with 100 pages of original daily content, interactive design features and a US-only readership for $40 a year it was just a matter of days before the full Daily offering was to be discovered available completely free online.
Following The Daily’s arrival one eagle-eyed attending journo announced he has spotted the iPad 2 at the newspaper app unveiling sporting a front-facing camera. Following this claimed sighting details have emerged around a possible unveiling next week as the mooted tablet is pegged as sporting a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. Whilst insider sources have claimed SD card slot inclusion rumours are wide of the mark, others have suggested the second-gen iPad will boast an anti-reflective screen.
Nintendo’s 3Ds is now less than two months from its UK arrival with the glasses-free 3D pocket gamer set to touch down at £199.99 via Sainsbury’s the first major retailer to offer the upcoming console for under the £200 mark. With the announcement that Super Mario Bros will be made available for the 3DS shortly after launch we at T3 went for an in-depth hands-on with the 3D gaming device to test out a couple of titles that will be available at launch. For our full expert opinion, hands-on pictures and a little video, read on. Not fussed about our opinion, check out what the T3 readers think will triumph in the battle between 3DS and Sony's NGP.
